Wonder(ful).
With Edinburgh a city famous for its festivals, the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh needed a brand and overall look and feel for a festival of their own, Wonder.
This was a month-long event sandwiched inbetween their core season shows, but was very much a unique offering celebrating the work of playwrights and theatre producers either in its infancy or still a work in progress.
A brand in progress
To visually echo the “Work in Progress” feel of the festival, the logo itself represents this through an eclectic set of letterforms and a contrasting and bright colour palette. This colour palette was carried across to the large number of show creatives.
This approach also opened the possibility of changing the logo letterforms each year.

Simple but striking
With a vast number of shows running through the month, we need a simple approach to the unique pieces of creative for each, so adopted a naïve illustration style with a contrasting and consistent title treatment for all. Again this was to feed into the idea of a WIP or something not quite as fleshed out as a full theatre production and also allowed the flexibility to vary the illustration style very slightly from show to show.
This creative was primarily shared online via social media and on the Lyceum’s website.
Nice, right?
